The tour coincides with the recent release of the Meet The Eels greatest hits album/DVD as well as Mark 'E' Everett's autobiography, Things The Grandchildren Should Know, which, by the way, is absolutely essential for any Eels fan.

According to this article the show is an intimate affair with Everett telling stories about each of the songs he performs. Much like their 'strings' show from a few years back it appears it will be all seated as well.

Eels to release Best-of, Rarities/Covers and a book

Eels are set to celebrate their first 10 years by releasing a best-of collection entitled Essential Eels Vol. 1 (1996-2006) and a rarities album, Useless Trinkets: B-Sides, Soundtracks, Rarities and Unreleased.

Both collections contain plenty for the uninitiated and fans alike, with videos and a whole bunch of previously unreleased material.

More information can be found at the Eels official website. Both collections will be released in January, 2008.

Furthermore, Eels front-man Mark Oliver Everett (or just 'E'), is set to release an autobiography entitled Things The Grandchildren Should Know. Anyone who's ever listened to just a couple of Eels songs would know that this should make for a great read.
