Dew Process have announced that they will once again be hosting their pre-Splendour party at the Great Northern Hotel in Byron Bay. This year the line-up features a special performance from 'mystery' band The Silent Alarms (um.. well played?), as well as Dananananaykroyd and Yves Klein Blue. To have a chance of getting tickets you will (apparently) need to sacrifice your email address and sign up to the Dew Process mailing list.

Bloc Party will play a little/intimate show on Tuesday, July 28 at the MCA Foundation Hall. Tickets go on sale Thursday, July 9 at 9am. Full details here.

Bloc Party
Intimacy

Seeing as Bloc Party are in town this week playing TWO sold out shows at the Hordern Pavilion we thought it was about time we delivered our long overdue thoughts on how terrible their new record is.

Bloc Party have bought TheVine.com.au? Ok, maybe not BUT seriously... advertising overload, much? PS: if you haven't heard Intimacy yet - don't bother. It's the 2008 Make Believe. Or something.

Bloc Party start mysterious end of the world countdown

Once upon a time, bands just released albums with boring marketing campaigns that involved adverts in magazines, posters around town and maybe a nice news article in the Sunday paper.

V Festival 2008 rumoured line-up

We print this with a giant oversized warning that it is more than likely 100% bullshit.

The B-sides from the latest Bloc Party album, 'A Weekend In The City', are apparently better than the released album. Hmm.
