Splendour In The Grass 2010 line-up announced
While we already knew all about the big name acts*, the (HUGE!) official announcement for this year's Spendour In The Grass (prematurely revealed by the Triple J web bot earlier tonight), still contains plenty of pleasant surprises.

Pixies announce Doolittle tour
Pixies have just announced that they are heading back to Australia next March for a series of special shows where they'll be playing their classic 1989 album Doolittle in it's entirety (as well as the accompanying b-sides).
Pixies are NOT releasing a new album in 2009
Minotaur will not feature any new material and instead be an artistically designed box set of the group's previously released LPs.
Violent Soho named as support for Black Francis sideshows
To earn the slot the Brisbanites had to beat Wolfmother, Powderfinger and Grinspoon in an insane four-way roller derby deathmatch. It was brutal.
V Festival @ Centenial Park - 31/03/2007
I don't really feel like i have much to say about the V Festival other than this: The Pixies were awesome, Beck was fantastic, Phoenix were heaps of fun, and pretty much everything else was one of the following: ok, shit or not worth mentioning.
Phoenix vs Pixies
It's well known that whenever a festival hits our shores, shit gets hectic. Sideshows are better than outdoor toilet, long beer queue festivals (everyone knows that) and traditionally, not being an Australian flag wearing kind of person, I will opt to fork over a large amount of cash to see a couple of sideshows in the week leading up to the latest corporate sponsored day of music.
Pixies announce solo show
Update: Nick points out that tickets go on sale for the show this Friday (the 23rd of March). More info at the Big Top website.
Pixiediscs, the beautiful, custom made cd's of recordings from The Pixies' last world tour, are now only $10 each (plus shipping). This might not be of much use to Australian's as they didn't stop their road trip here.
