Eskimo Snow
Rap may have died but as one third of seminal rap meets ambient drone group cLOUDDEAD Yoni Wolf helped revive it's auto-tune bloated corpse with minimalist four track recording and bizarre sampling. From the ashes of that group Why? was born, originally a sparse acoustic guitar driven solo project and now a fully fledged band, Why? effortlessly combined elements of folk, pop and rap. The first full band record, Elephant Eyelash was infinitely re-playable and a grand example of why Yoni has the sharpest wit in music. The band's third record Alopecia contained both soaring vocals and contorted raps, Wolf mining the depths of his own psyche for our benefit. Eskimo Snow, their latest, does away with any of the hip hop trappings, leading to a mature, nuanced alternative pop record.

As per usual - the next few months are going to be hectic! Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Why, Andrew Bird, Yacht, Thee Oh Sees, Camera Obscura, Akron/Family, Moby, The Books and billions more will be playing shows around the country.

Meredith Festival rumoured line-up
A few more names have started popping up in response to the age-old question - 'Meredith?'. Aside from the mild excitement of those already confirmed - Animal Collective and Jarvis Cocker - a bunch of other 'banging acts' have been linked to the festival, including Band Of Horses, Afrika Bambaataa, Why?, Gang Gang Dance and The Vaselines.
