Decoder Ring
Let A Thousand Flowers Bloom (radio edit)
A giant wave of pleasure slowly starts to build up inside of me. There are some little flashes of light shooting through the clearing clouds like mind-blocked Golf Warz flashback bullets. There are some memories from my mid-90s hippy days buried underneath all of the random splatters of chaos that comfort my young and virile heart/mind.
The urgency of everything starts to then takeover, but it never completely shatters the underlying handjob-esque calmness. There is an unpredictable, edge of the seat 'Adam Sandler comedy classic' kind of suspense, but also an overwhelming feeling that everything is just building up to a predictable joyous climax.
And then, before I have time to react, comes an almost violent conclusion. A single thought passes through my somewhat shell shocked little mind - "how awesome must the album version of this song be".
Let A Thousand Flowers Bloom is the first single from Decoder Ring's new album They Blind The Stars, And The Wild Team, which is set be released on July 11. If this little eargasmic sampling is anything to go by, the album should be all types of amazing.
You catch Decoder Ring playing on June 27 alongside Muscles, Bluejuice, Dappled Cities Fly AND host of other local 'faves' at the big FBi fundraiser show at Metro Theatre.
