The line-up for the 2009 Big Day Out was announced this morning..

  • Neil Young
  • My Morning Jacket
  • TV On The Radio
  • Eddy Current Suppression Ring
  • The Living End
  • Cog
  • The Grates
  • Youth Group
  • Cut Copy
  • The Prodigy
  • Arctic Monkeys
  • The Ting Tings
  • Bullet For My Valentine
  • Pendulum
  • Simian Mobile Disco
  • Sneaky Sound System
  • TZU

Oh my.. considering that we already knew all about Neil Young, My Morning Jacket and TV On The Radio this is a very snooze-worthy line-up. I mean, The Prodigy? For realz? 1996?

Tickets for Sydney go on sale Wednesday, October 8, for Gold Coast on Thursday, October 9 and for all other locations (Auckland, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth) on Friday, October 10.

Thanks to Quack (via the forum) for the info.

Good job for Eddy Current Suppression Ring to get on the lineup ... hopefully they're on at the same time as Sneaky Sound System and everyone goes to check em out.

Whats a bet The Prodigy and Neil Young will be on at the same time.

I heard they'll be closing the boiler room.

When I last saw the Prodigy at the 2002 Big Day Out (I think they also played late 90s and I saw them then, but memory is failing me) they played on the main stage, headlined... the sound sucked and it was a crap performance... I think they would be better suited to the Boiler Room anyway, which would probably make them on at the same time as Neil Young.

Alright, the only sideshow I even care about is TVOTR. Anyone heard anything?

I'm thinking The Metro?

These new faces (and old faces - Black Kids were soooo 2007) join the existing line-up which features exciting up-and-coming superstars such as Neil Young, The Living End and Sneaky Sound System. #
