No regrets. No no none at all.

In fact you can only just see the weekend from Wednesday, it's waving and jumping up and although you can't make out the facial expression, you know that it's smiling like a drunken idiot.

I guess if you don't start work til 9.30 the next morning and there is a 'secret' Die! Die! Die! show going down-izzzle then there really is zero reasons written down in the excuse column why you shouldn't pick your broke self up and move move move down to the seedy part of town for punking, rocking and dancing.

Hey, we even punched and kicked ran away from late night street kidds who tried to mug us, steal our small change, cameras and pride. So you know we looove this type of thing..

Some locale bands opened things up..

Say Cheese and Die!...

Say Cheese And Die!

Dead Farmers...

Dead Farmers

.. and Dead China Doll, who were pretty darned awesome.

Dead China Doll

(Dah -- obvs the theme of the night was 'die' or 'dead', as all four band names had that somewhere in the name. Sticking together..)

Although they were slightly wanking off a bit near the end (taking a page from Mars Volta's book - 'Stretching Out A Song') Dead China Doll were definately an entertaining outfit. If you don"t believe me, head down early to The Mint Chicks show at the Annandale Hotel tonight and see for yourself. They should be taking the stage about 8.30.

There was a definate buzz as DJ Cut, Splice and Skip Records was doing as he does.. and Die! Die! Die! set their things up.. before.. they .. unleaserizzzed..

Die! Die! Die!

Die! Die! Die!

Die! Die! Die!

Yeah.. we were pretty darn close to the action as well. So close in fact that when Lead Singer decided he didn't want to play guitar anymore (3 songs in) and instead wanted to fight the crowd (wrestling etc) then we were caught up in all that fun.

The next twenty minutes or so was pretty insane. Kids flying around, band in crowd, crowd on stage, etc..

Although, it was slightly 'staged' with friends of the band most likely involved, the crowd slowly took over the stage. Some guy got some sticks and assisted with drumming duties and another random took the guitar so the lead singer could head into the crowd and yell 'yeah, this band is pretty good..' inbetween song verses. Then there was back-up singers, kids slam-dancing into the drum kit and more confusion on where the band started and the crowd ended, or vice versa. It all came together perfectly as the whole show self-destructed on the final note of the last song with the set being almost completely trashed.

Die! Die! Die!

Bestest. Wednesday. Show. Ever.
