We were first exposed to Hand Me My Jetpack, a band that consists of two former members of Degrees K and ex-frontman of I [love] Space, back in March at Keegstock. They were clearly the highlight of the day with their energy and original sound absolutely flooring us.
It appears we aren't the only ones that are seeing the trio as a breath of fresh air in the ever-repetitive local scene and it's great to see that, although the band is only a few months old, they are already started to get a bit of buzz about them. They were recently interviewed by YourGigs.com.au regarding their sound and future plans and seem to have all their focus in the right place - playing shows and putting some music out there for the masses.
Over the next few months they will be doing just that. They will be playing a handful of shows around the place and, hopefully, selling copies of their newly recorded EP. You can catch them at:
2nd of June (this Saturday!) @ Spectrum, Sydney - supporting Cloud Control.
22nd of June @ Hopetoun Hotel, Sydney - supporting Belles Will Ring.
27th of July @ The Espy, St Kilda - playing with the Seabellies and others.
Head over to their MySpace page to hear exactly how awesome this band actually is. Especially recommended is the track Fragment (Consider Revising) - it will not leave your head for days.
