New Music Sunday

For the same reason we think AIDS Wolf are pretty darn rad, we also lust after Melbourne's Bang!Bang!Aids!. Their fuck right off attitude and transistions from calmness to wild chaotic noise makes us feel all warm and happy inside. You can listen to a couple of their songs over at theirSpace.

Les Savy Fav have a new album, entitled Let's Stay Friends, due out on the 18th of September. You can listen to one track What Would Wolves Do over at Pitchfork and download another (slightly wilder and BETTER) track called The Equestrian over at Stereogum. Two very different songs lends us to think this could be a very tasty album.

The kids over at The Sandwich Club have been really hitting that spot (no pun intended) over the past couple of days - opened me up to two every awesome Sydney bands that was unaware of. First there is We Stole The Organ who create hollowing and incredibly addictive synth-based tunes. You can download their track Riot In The Viper Room from here. A very different band, Smokin' Vaults have thrown up a demo on their MySpace page and although we aren't quite as blown away as the S-Club peeps are we do think it's pretty faultless indie pop music. Kinda reminds me of the frantic guitars and vocals of Bit By Bats and The Pharaohs. Very keen to catch these guys live sooner rather than later.

Also, today is the last day of The Pitz Birthday Weekend. Peabody and a whole bunch of other awesome bands are playing from around 2pm this afternoon. Entry is via donation and it's BYO. Better way to spend a Sunday afternoon? No.
