There are several things that make Richard In Your Mind a fairly unique Sydney band (besides their sound)...
They bring their own explosive confetti fireworks...

They are wear Buddy Holly glasses - even the drummer - who doesn't need them.

Frontman Richard has a interesting mix of quirky confidence and nerdy shyness that provides as the backbone for the entertaining banter between songs.

Their performance last Saturday night was highly entertaining from start to finish. Although they seem much tighter as a band since the last time I saw them they don't seem to have lost any of their playful on-stage antics.
On Saturday they were launching their new single, The New Sun, which you can get in lovely 7" vinyl format at Pigeon Ground at Camperdown. It serves as an introduction to their album which is due out in November.
The main support for Saturday night's show was Daz from Gerling's side project, The E.L.F. His set consisted of half original bedroom-created dance music and half DJ set. Both were entertaining for different reasons. The DJ set really showed off his tidy mixing skills as he mashed up every song you have ever heard and/or wanted to hear into a 30 minute mix fiesta.
Richard In Your Mind are playing a bunch of shows over the next few months and we thoroughly recommend you undo your recent lazy streak and go and see them.
