We are only now putting ourselves back together from what turned out to be a pretty hectic weekend. With our party on Saturday night and the final organisational steps for making one of the key member of our 'staff' transform into 'an international correspondent' it was obviously a little bit insane-like.
It all starting on Friday night with Walrus' single launch at the Annandale Hotel...

The Ripping Dylans opened the night and were incredibly awesome. Treating the early-birds to a performance that was a lovely balance of controlled noise and rock 'n' roll attitude.

Talons were next up. We have used all of our limited vocabulary to describe how much we love their music so we won't go into details except to say that they deserve all the praise we throw at them.

Walrus have come along way in the past couple of years. Their single War got a lot of radio exposure and thus earned them a whole flock of new fans. The crowd, which had been steadily growing from the time the doors opened, got to a state of 'almost fullhouse' as the headline act took the stage. Walrus seemed to feed off the highly receptive crowd and delivered one of the best performances we have seen them put on.

The whole front portion of the crowd were dancing like crazy people..

Congrats to Walrus who, with the large crowd on Friday night, are starting to be rewarded for all of their hard work over the past couple of years.
The new double A-side single Marilyn Munroe / Funky Monkey is out soon-ish. Head over to their MySpace to hear the new songs.
