Whoa.
The internet has already 'over-gushed' in regards to the awesomeness of Daft Punk's Alive show BUT it really is that friggin amazing. It's a sensory overload, an ever-changing spectrum of lights and colours that verge on the point of turning eyes inside out and exploding brains into uncontrollable spasms.
Or maybe it was just a well put together light show.
The dirty trick of Modular to turn the event into a festival didn't kill the ultimate enjoyment of the day. I watched the second half of the support acts from within the Man Body Appreciation Area of the 'dance floor' where the people paraded, wrote humorous references to their drug taking on their backs and lost their shit at random moments when familiar songs were performed by the support acts.
But all the 'warm-up' paled into comparison the complete show that was being laid out in front of my eyes when Daft Punk took the stage and kicked into Robot Rock. They exist completely in a surreal world of robotic pop mayhem and the mixing of their classic tracks created a fantastic soundtrack to the visual orgasm that was being presented.
Words can't really sum it up all up. I advise you to hunt down a copy of the Alive 2007 CD and scroll down.
