yay! excited! also can't wait to see who else is in the 2nd announcement. so who's going to V Festival? [do we already have a discussion for this? sorry didn't check] I've already bought a ticket. I went last year and the music and performances were great. Food, drink and toilet lines were painful. Hopefully they've learnt something from last year in that department.

I won't be. line-up doesn't do that much for me... beyond JMC and Air

might be tempted to catch a Modest Mouse sideshow though

Aaaaron

I will not be their either... other than Air and The Tough Alliance, nothing else I really want to see. Modest Mouse side show would be money though.

i had a pretty good time last year, much better than the shitfest that is BDO.

but the lineup ain't doing it for me this year either, with the exceptions of, like joe, JAMC and air. but even air i'm not that fussed with...their last album didn't do it for me and i can't see it being very good live.

that said i should see them at their own show sometime...i've only ever seen them at huge festivals.

and modest mouse weren't that great when they were here last year....no desire to see them again.

I'm not going to V Fest. The lineup seems like a reunion festival, no interest to me.

I love Modest Mouse, and I know this sounds bad, but I really love their old stuff better. But I think I will still see them. Not too sure about Luna Park, is that a good venue?

i have seen a few shows at luna park.. depends kinda how they set it up.. and how big the crowd is.. i saw eels as part of the 'strings' tour .. it was all seated and was the best show i have ever been to i saw pixies there last year and it was just too big..

yeah luna park is weird if you're in the wrong place (and it's not too hard to be)... you definitely feel like you're in a barn

bummer to hear that modest mouse weren't that hot last time - I was out of town when they played and didn't get to read any reviews

i've got some friends who are MASSIVE MM fans...and are from seattle so they've seen them lots over the last 15 years.

To them it is quite clear that while they have ALWAYS been hit or miss live, these days there are far more misses.

i remember being quite excited about their set at falls fest in 2006, but coming away completely underwhelmed by the live show. It was like the instant they had finished their set i forgot about it completely.

2nd announcement = HUGE yawn

Jonny Yes Yes

any word on how ticket sales are going?

Posted at 22:39 on Thursday, February 14, 2008.

gemdilem

No idea how ticket sales are going... I think last year they announced at the last minute that it had sold out but there weren't many people there so I doubt it actually did...

From the website at the end of the second announcement they've put: "And we may still have a surprise or two up our sleeve…" well you'd want to hope they are going to announce more... really isn't many bands going so far...

Sean

i'm pretty sure Beck was added last minute last year to boost ticket sales....
