The Silents release new single with debut album to follow

The Silents

After what seems like forever of a wait Perth's finest harmonic, psychedelic, garage rocking lads, The Silents, are set to release their debut album via Sydney's Ivy League Records.

The album is titled Things To Learn and will be in stores nationally from March 29.

The first single is called Little Girl Lost and we think it's a fantastic little slab of whirling emotions garnished with a just touch of angst.

Channeling a little bit of Craig Nicholas as well, maybe?

Loosely related BONUS song: Nas - Black Girl Lost.

Sure, it's only [kinda] connected by title and we are pretty sure that the Queensbridge rapper and The Silents have completely different lyrical styles and subject matters BUT we think Nas is just a top kid and we will jump at any excuse to share some of his music with the masses. Black Girl Lost is from his 1996 album It Was Written which, although only about 10% as good as his debut, Illmatic, we still feel falls in the category of 'essential' hip-hop.

Get your yearly dose of vocoder-hip-hop.
Should be good though. As long as Scribe plays Not Many and then leaves and Nas plays Illmatic front to back. Twice.
Tickets are crazy expensive. Something like $4000. Probably sold out months ago.

20 respectable rock and rap acts that peaked with debut albums. I completely agree with the majority of the hip-hop selections on this list. Nas' Illmatic for example, is around a trillion times better than anything else he has ever done. #
