SPOD loves Aminals

If any artist rightfully deserves to mess with conventional formating and put their name completely in caps, it'z Sydney'z super-duper electro-trash machine - SPOD.

Just take a look at that this promo photo of the musclebound bedroom musical superhero, doesn't it just scream FULL CAPS?

A few months back Mr SPOD ran into a little trouble with a minor explosion on his main music computer killing a large chunk of his new album...

But SPOD, being the positive guy he is, didn't let this get him down and has moved on, laid some fresh jamzzz and is now [almost] ready to release his NEW re-recorded album. Before he does that, however, he will be releasing a special limited edition 7" called Aminals (no typo) on May 19 via Rice Is Nice.

The record is dedicated to the greatness of animals and will feature the new single Cats! on the A-side and another newey, Ladybug, as well as a cover of 2 Live Crew's We Want Some Pussy on the B-side.

No word as yet as to when the new album will finally see the light of day BUT as a consolation you can catch the SPODster around the place on a mini-tour to promote the release of the new mini-record. It's all very mini.

Saturday, June 7 - Rosies, Brisbane

Supporting SPOD for the Hopetoun show will be the Sydney contingent of the Tucker B's who will play the role of 'backing band' for the night. Arguably, the greatest combination of musical forces EVER.
