Spectrum turns four

happy birthday yo!

Spectrum (aka that small rainbow-striped venue on Oxford Street) is celebrating it's fourth birthday next month. To help them blow out the candles and get them ready for 'grown up school' there has been a bumper action-packed evening of entertainment organised.

The night (Wednesday, August 13 - mark it in yo diaries, online calendars, back-of-hands) will feature live music performances from Cuthbert & The Nightwalkers, Cloud Control, Bird Automatic, Art Vs Science and Kempsey, with 'in-betweeney' DJ sets from The E.L.F, The Paper Scissors, The Seabellies, Pash DJ's and Fools Gold DJ's.

I can't help but imagine how tasty that line-up would be if those bands that were 'spinnin tunez' were actually performing. Oh well.

Tickets are on sale now via Moshtix and will cost you $10 (+ bf).

Unfortunately that is no longer true. When i visited on the weekend they'd painted over all the rainbow walls with a massive ad for a bourbon brand.

It happened late April ish? I noticed because their ad in Brag became Slate branded.

Still smells of incense though!

Spectrum no longer has striped walls? arghhh... it took me about 3 visits to even realise they had rainbow walls (probably alcohol related)... and now they are no more... hopefully it will take me just as long to notice the slate advertising then... man I hate slate.. everywhere I look these days is slate.
