Australia's finest dirty rockers, The Drones, have announced that they will be releasing a new EP, The Minotaur + A Brief Retrospective, on September 2 via ATP Recordings.
The EP is a bit of a catch-up lesson for those outside of Australia and will feature a mix of new material (such as the track below) and a collection of some of the group's finest work to date, including tracks from their Australian Music Prize winning 2005 record, Wait Long By The River And The Bodies Of Your Enemies Will Float By, as well as the critically acclaimed 2006 follow-up, Gala Mill.
The Minotaur (available now via iTunes) will also feature on the band's fourth studio album, Havilah, which is set to be released locally on September 20 and early next year for 'international folks'. The new album, produced by Gerling's Burke Reid, was recorded over a two week period earlier this year in an isolated mud brick house in the mountains outside of Myrtleford, Victoria.
