Cuthbert and the Night Walkers are gonna tour the shit outta the East Coast

Songs about sweets, a sweet choir of ladies, a man named Cuthbert who does pretty good with the ladies. These are ingredients. Ingredients for magic AND also ingredients for the bizarro pop group that is Cuthbert and the Night Walkers (who for the rest of this 'news item' will be known as CATNW).

There was a time (March, 2007) when you couldn't swing a baby pony without hitting someone that was either raving about seeing CATNW live, heading out to see them play or eating a tasty batch of homemade vindaloo curry. But things have been kinda quiet on the CATNW front lately and although they have played the odd show (occasionally) around Syd-town over the past year they haven't ventured too much out of their comfort zone and 'got their relentless tour on' like they did in the glory days of Two Double Oh Sevenz.

Until NOW... as the group hit the road to try out some new tunes, dig out some old faves and break all sorts of bullshit 'number of people on stage' rules...

Saturday, October 11: Megafauna Festival, Canberra
Saturday, October 18: Toff in Town, Melbourne
Thursday, October 23: the Troubadour, Brisbane
Thursday, October 30: Hopetoun Hotel, Sydney
Friday, October 31: Hopetoun Hotel, Sydney

Supports for the Sydney shows are Deep Sea Arcade and megastick fanfare for the Thursday and Philadelphia Grand Jury and We Say Bamboulee for the Friday shin-digger. The interstate supports will be announced soon.

Word is that those who don't dress up in Halloween gear (read: a bed sheet with some eye holes) for the 2nd Hopetoun show will be REFUSED entry and possibly even beaten down by the band. Considering that Cuthbert and the Night Walkers has about 25 members that would be one helluva fisting. More fisting than you would get at an infamous 'anything-goes' party in the depths of the former East Germany.

My Sydney Riot is on tomorrow

An awesome line-up, combined with the fact the My Sydney Riot folks have put on some good events in the past makes this a very tempting way to spend a Sunday.
