Black Kids - Over-hyped or the real deal?

Black Kids

By now even if you only spend 4-5 minutes on the interwebz per day then you are more than likely sick to death of hearing all about a new band called Black Kids.

In case you live under a proverbial rock and/or don't 'get' blogs allow us to bring you somewhat 'up to speed'...

The Masters Of The Overyhype gave their Wizard Of Aahhs demo EP an 8.4.

You can download their four track EP for FREE from their MySpace page.

They are from Jacksonsville, Florida.

Their breakthrough song I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You is worthy of high praise. It's an awesomely addictive lo-fi pop track.

Their following at the CMJ Festival even got the New York Times' attention.

The Guardian has also latched onto all the blog hype and labeled them as one of their 'new bands of the day'.

Cut Off Your Hands frontman Nick Johnston doesn't think much of them.

They are still unsigned.

So... thoughts?
