Children collide with SPOD, zero casualties reported at this early stage

SPOD

Children Collide score fairly high on our elaborate 'suckiness vs success' graph, however, they will suck a little less on their upcoming tour due to the fact they will be supported at all shows by THE one-man disco inferno - SPOD!

Friday, July 18: The Trouboadour, Brisbane
Saturday, July 19: Annandale Hotel, Sydney
Friday, July 25: Northcote Social Club, Melbourne
Saturday, July 26: Jive Bar, Adelaide

Tickets are on sale NOW and will set you back around $12.

The tour is in celebration of Children Collide's new single, Social Currency, which sounds a bit like this:

Yes. You're right. It is kinda bland.

The attached info that we were sent with the track takes over-the-top press releases to a whole new level:

Social Currency is a Dualism. On one hand it is a cynical joke. It's about a DJ getting a headjob under the decks at a club. It's about a girl wearing all the right brands. It's about kids starting a band so they can be cool at parties. About rich guys flashing money around to score hot girls and hot girls flashing themselves around to score rich guys (or rich girls scoring hot guys). It's about over the top fancy cars parked out the front of over the top fancy cafes. And a million other things. Social Currency, what's yours? Is it worth it? Does your life mean anything without it? Does your life mean anything anyway?

After I read that I immediately felt like I needed this song in my life. I also felt kinda confused. And depressed.

The band's new record, which was recently recorded in LA with super-producer, Dave Sard, who has previously worked with the likes of Wolfmother, JET, Oasis, Marilyn Manson and The Dandy Warhols, is due out in October.
