Eddy Current Suppression Ring in-store today!

If, like me, you move in slow motion sometimes and thus failed to get to the Hopetoun Hotel last night before the dreaded SOLD OUT sign was stuck up on the door - then you will be extremely happy and somewhat over the moon over the news that you still have one last chance to catch Eddy Current Suppression Ring before the scoot off out of town and disappear from our lives forever and/or a few months.

Today, from 3.30pm, you can catch the band at Red Eye Records (66 King St, da city) kicking out a LIVE in-store performance.

Dead Farmers will also be playing and it will be 100% FREE, so in some ways (many ways in fact) it will be not only better than last night's show but also better tasting than if you melted down last night's show into milkshake format and served it up with a thick layer of cream and heroin.

Eddy Current Suppression Ring have capped off an impressive year by topping two out of the three lists in Mess and Noises' annual readers poll. The Melbourne outfit finished two votes ahead of The Drones to win Album Of The Year, in addition to taking out the Best Live Act honour ahead of an impressive field which included veteran rockers You Am I and Nick Cave. Melbourne female quintet Beaches convincingly took out the prize for Best New Act, beating out psychedelic Modular-ites Tame Impala and one of our faves Ghoul. #

Eddy Current Suppression Ring have landed an ARIA nomination for Best Rock Album for their incredibly awesome Primary Colours record. The full list of nominees are now up on the official site, with the winners being announced at the televised award show on Sunday, October 19 at Acer Arena. #

The 100 pre-sale tickets were snapped up in a flash and, if it's anything like last time they were in town, the remaining 150 door tickets will more than likely disappear pretty quickly also. #
