Goodbye Sunshine Festival at The Aviary this weekend has been canceled

Update from yesterday - this has apparently been CANCELED due to 'council restrictions'. There is some more info in this thread on the Mess and Noise forum.

This Saturday and Sunday a whole bunch of awesome bands are playing at a lovely little (art?) space at the south end of King St in Newtown. The place is called The Aviary, the address is 596 King St, Newtown and the action will run from about midday on both days.

Playing times:

Day 1 (Saturday)
Regular John - (6:25 - 7:05)
Ghosts of Television - (5:30 - 6:10)
Dead China Doll - (4:35 - 5:15)
Warhorse - (3:40 - 4:20)
Talons - (2:45 - 3:25)
Straight Arrows - (1:50 - 2:30)
Fait Accompli - (12:55 - 1:35)
The Tights - (12:00 - 12:40)

Day 2 (Sunday)
The Holy Soul - (6:25 - 7:05)
Dandilyon - (5:45 - 6:15)
The Laurels - (4:55 - 5:35)
The Band Formerly Known as The Counterfeiters - (4:00 - 4:40)
Pigeons Read - (3:35 - 3:50)
Cloud Control - (2:45 - 3:25)
Pets w/ Pets (Melb) - (1:50 - 2:30)
Diamond Daggers - (12:55 - 1:35)
The Wahas - (12:10 - 12:40)
Felix - (11:45 - 12:00)

The combination of Fait Accompli, Talons and The Straight Arrows is enough to get me down there for at least some of the action on the Saturday. What else would you want to do on your weekend, shop for antiques?

No word on the costings, but doubt it will break any budgets, and you will feel sooo very nice because you will actually be supporting awesome local bands. This is the last event they will host at this location as well so come and give it a nice little send off.

Talons have unfortunately had to pull out of the show. Sad face!
They have, however, been replaced by Fashion Launches Rocket Launches (Mercy Arms and Valentinos side project) and the "infernal biker boogie-bots" Circle Pit.
