The line-up for next year's
Perth International Arts Festival (February 5 - March 1) has just been released and it's fairly off the effing chain - Antony and the Johnsons, Dirty Three, HEALTH, Yo La Tengo, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, British Sea Power, Pivot and
many many more.
The prospect of
HEALTH sideshows excites us greatly.
Earlier this year HEALTH dropped the truth bomb 7" that was
Die Slow upon us, blowing our collective minds with a perfect combination of shoegaze vocals, pulsating drums and other worldly instrumentation that all blended into a kind of genre evading death disco. In my mind the hype for the band's sophomore album
Get Color increased ten fold after hearing it. Questions about whether they could bring the ideas formed in their debut (that was more of a remixers dream than anything else, see
Health//Disco for proof) together to create cohesive full length songs excitedly rose in my mind. Seeing as
Get Color has been on constant rotation on every music device I have, it seems like they may have delivered.

Aaaaaaaaaron
I saw HEALTH 3 weeks ago in a venue not much bigger than the OAF and it was unbelievable. The sound, the percussion, the energy all made for a brilliant show. Enjoy, those of you who will be in attendance.
