Jay Reatard cause of death revealed
The Commercial Appeal reports that the official cause of Jay Reatard's untimely demise was "cocaine toxicity". The Shelby County Medical Examiner, Dr. Karen E. Chancellor, also cited alcohol as "a contributing factor".
Jay's manager, Adam Shore, has also announced that there are some possible posthumous releases in the works, including a new solo record for Matador and a re-issue of some of Jay's early stuff with The Reatards on Goner Records.
