Luke Steele, the spaced-out, make-up wearing fella from The Sleepy Jackson, has recently revealed details of his own solo acoustic tour:
Tuesday, August 5: Toff In Town, Melbourne
Wednesday, August 6: The Basement, Sydney
Thursday, August 7: The Brass Monkey, Cronulla
Friday, August 8: Sol Bar, Coolum
Saturday, August 9: Globe Theatre, Brisbane
Friday, August 15: Devilles Pad, Perth
The shows will feature Steele's own acoustic renditions of Sleepy Jackson songs. All intimate n shit. This is kind of like a preview of 'future Sleepy Jackson' - when Steele finally runs out of people to kick out of his band (zing?).
Tickets are on sale NOW.
Captain Steele has also revealed some details about his upcoming releases via his MySpace blog:
It's fairly safe to assume that one of these projects is his joint venture with Pnau's Nick Littlemore, Empire Of The Sun, who recently inked a deal with EMI. You can listen and download the Sam La More remix of their track Walking On A Dream here. Doof diddy doof doof?
The other project Steele is more than likely alluding to is his much talked about collaboration with Silverchair frontman and Biggest Wanker In Australian Music (1995 to 2020) - Daniel Johns. We are understandable less excited about that one.
