The Drones, Eddy Current and Beaches make it onto Australian Music Prize shortlist

The shortlist for the 2008 Australian Music Prize (Da AMP) was officially announced this morning...
- The Presets - Apocalypso
- Beaches – Beaches
- The Drones - Havilah
- Cut Copy - In Ghost Colours
- CW Stoneking - Jungle Blues
- Jack Ladder - Love Is Gone
- Tom Cooney - Presque Vu
- Eddy Current Suppression Ring - Primary Colours
- Ross McLennan - Sympathy For The New World
It's probably no secret who we think should get the award.
As in previous years the winning band/artist will take home a MASSIVE pile of cold hard ca$h (30,000 big ones!). A secondary prize for 'outstanding potential' will also be awarded, with the recipient taking home $15,000. What financial crisis?
The winner will be announced on March 13.

Stocks for Eddy Current Enterprises have been rising steadily over the past few years. What do The Mess Hall, The Drones and The Kill Devil Hills have in common? If you answered "ROCK" you would be half right. If you said "they are all bad ass duos with elaborate hair styles" you would be completely incorrect.
