This weekend in Sydney: Goodbye Sunshine Festival (Pt Deux)

There are plenty of lovely things happening around town this weekend (turn yer head right, champ) BUT for us there is a clear winner.

The Goodbye Sunshine Festival, which was so fantastic last year that I split my jean's, is happening again this Saturday. This year it will be moving out of the Marrickville warehouse zone and taking place at Cooks River Motor Boat Club at Tempe. Hopefully, the change of venue will mean that Da Law won't bust in and shut it down this time around.

The festival is FREE and kicks off around midday.

Playing times:

12:00 - Jeremy
12:30 - Kane
13:00 - Cock Moses
13:40 - White Ox
14:20 - Whipped Cream Chargers
15:00 - Whores
15:40 - Volcano Rats of Women
16:20 - The Walk on By
17:05 - Nhomea
17:50 - Aleesha Dibbs
18:35 - The Nevada Strange
19:20 - Warhorse
20:10 - Atrocities
21:05 - Dead China Doll
22:00 - The Holy Soul

The afterparty will be happening at the Vegas Lounge in QBar, with FREE entry for all those who have a stamp from the festival. Crunky.

just a note from the organisers....

"Just a reminder that its NOT BYO but you can drink at the park around the corner or on the water outside.

If you get the lunch special, you get a meal and $2.20 SCHOONERS for the rest of the day. "

Cycled down and saw a couple of bands earlyish. Cock Moses were indeed really good. Great venue + awesome day to drink beers outside. Didn't get the lunch special but $4 schooners were more than acceptable.

Dunno what happened re: bands not playing, but was kicking along all nice-like when we left in the early arvo. Locals in the other room were kinda bemused by it all.

Very good day I thought.
A friend of mine got told off by a local because she didn't like our kind at her club playing our music.

from what i understand, some bands didn't play because there was a family death for someone involved. very sad.

That is correct.
Although Atrocities are on hiatus, thats why they didnt play.
