Tucker B's + The Tigers @ Hopetoun Hotel
The Tucker B's fare-welled their semi-adopted home of Sydney, as they returned to Perth to possibly work on some new music, in what can only be described as 'mind-blowingly-awesome' fashion.
The show was opened, well to us, that turned up a little late, by legendary Perth band/bros, The Tigers, who did more than enough to warm up the stage for the Tuckers. The charismatic lead singer was a very entertaining centrepiece for the band, and captivated the slightly underwhelming number of patrons.
Thanks to a fair chunk of beer throughout the day - in celebration of our National Day of Pride - which, although not the best thing for some bands, is just perfect for the Tucker B's wild, screaming style of rock, especially since they are probably the band I have seen most of the past year. When you know the words, the show is oh so much much much much more enjoyable.
They played all the proven awesome live songs, mainly pulling from their latest album, Chubby.
Yes, the last photo does feature some very nice guitar-on-wall playing, which fitted in beautifully alongside the continual namecalling, headbutting, kicking, headlocking and other antics amonsgt the band members.
All in all it was an awesome show. Well recieved by the audience and incredibly entertaining. I love the Hopetoun Hotel as a venue. It's small, but not restricting for the bands, and often the sound is a lot better than in even the larger venues in Sydney.
Farewell Tucker's, please come back and live in our city on a strange 18 month tour again sometime soon.
