#2: Guerre (Part 2)
The song performed here wasn't actually one of the two originally selected by Guerre for his PoA Live session. In-between takes he repeatedly returned to this sample-heavy beat, twiddling around with it, adding in little details around the edges and an improvised crooned melody as a backdrop.
The (then untitled) song was nicknamed "that Moby song", having borrowed the same sample from an infamous/legendary track by the vegan/architectural techno legend. It was later re-named to Heavy Days and/or Deva Lux depending on your mood/source.
With a little bit of time left over at the end of the day it was decided we'd do a few quick run-throughs of the track. Guerre obliged and this was the result — a passionate spur-of-the-moment performance. Solidifying every single inch of praise we spewed during our lengthy Part 1 write-up.
Huge thanks to Guerre for his time and brilliant work. As well as everyone involved in creating this and the lovely folks at Studios 301 for once again lending us the keys.
