Episode 6

Mikey Mike goes solo and indulges in his new obsession: Music with irregular time signatures. Old stuff and new stuff, most of which no one will want to hear because it usually has the effect of making your ears bleed and your brain explode. Just thank your lucky stars there is no bulgarian folk music on the playlist, as it is written in signatures too complicated for the Western mind to even consider thinking about attempting to contemplate.

Here is the playlist, along with the suspected time signatures (apologies for any innacuracies)

  1. Queens of the Stone Age - Hangin' Tree (10/8)
  2. Radiohead - Go to Sleep. (Little Man Being Erased.) (10/4, 4/4)
  3. ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - Will You Smile Again? (5/4 and 4/4)
  4. The Beatles - Good Morning (5/4)
  5. Mars Volta - Miranda That Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore: b. Pour Another Icepick (10/4, 3/4, 4/4, and probably others)
  6. Fantomas - 04/02/05 (mixed)
  7. System of a Down - Question! (5/4, 9/8)
  8. Sufjan Stevens - The Tallest Man, The Broadest Shoulders (11/8, 5/4, 13/8, 4/4)
  9. Aphex Twin - Window Licker (4/4 with inflections)
  10. Broken Social Scene - 7/4 (shoreline) (7/4 obvs)
  11. Outkast - Hey Ya! (11/4)

Much of this info was either harvested from, or backed up by this wikipedia entry. All praise maths and music!
