Blank Realm
Reach You On The Phone

Monday worm-holes are best just followed. The effort expended fighting them is best directed towards just getting through the daylight office hours. So you pick up a download of that latest Hand Games tape, the one you meant to get on Friday. Always a reliable source of Fresh Meat — minus all The Guilt of murdering cattle as they float across oceans accompanied by nothing more than an investigative journalist and the heavy thoughts of unfulfilled potential, that always seems to attach itself to impending death. And right there in the tracklist there's a new one from Blank Realm, information about which was undoubtedly contained within a press release buried amongst the unread skip-the-inbox wasteland we accumulated during the joyous holiday period. Thankfully their chosen moniker doesn't require the post-Google 'band' safety descriptor in order to wrangle something useful. And soon enough we're there, pulling it down from the Apple Distributed Music Prison for a price that's not unreasonable by 2014 standards, but outrageous by 1996 standards. And we sort by date added in descending order in our playback program of choice, because we try and stay abreast to the new and exciting fragments of music. And we're immediately welcomed by this comfort of colloquialisms and a warm synth tickle.

Grassed Inn is out now via Bedroom Suck and available digitally via iTunes and for vinyl pre-order via BSR.
