Eels
Fresh Blood

A few weeks back when we posted some info about Eels' new record Hombre Lobo we openly pondered just how creepy/rad a song called Fresh Blood was going to be. As it turns out the song (the record's first single) IS a lil' bit freaky.

Throughout Fresh Blood E's vocals switch from horror flick nursery rhymes to fucked up howls, without any warning. Musically, the song is powered by a synthesized-sounding minimal bassline, which adds a touch of pop weight to the track, yet also matches the suspenseful mood of the vocals. It all comes together ever so nicely.

Hombre Lobo is scheduled to be released on June 2 and, if this song is anything to go by, we think it's going to kick some serious ass.

That black & red image of E would have made an awesome album cover

loving this song... Really hoping it's indicative of the vibe of the rest of the album. Given the album title, I wouldn't be surprised to hear more howling
