Made In Japan
Oxford Decor

This track, the latest single from soon-to-be-massive Sydney outfit Made In Japan, reminds me a lot of the good ol' days of guilt-free Sydney Indie PopTM. The frantic guitars, the catchy hook and well delivered harmonies take me back to a time before we got all jaded and cynical. Back when bands like Red Riders got the kids to put down the pills and start really caring about rock music again. Summer of '05 for lyfe.

The band will officially launch Oxford Decor at a headline show at Spectrum on Saturday, November 7. Tickets are $10 via Moshtix.

Didn't they steal that opening guitar riff from Bloc Party?

Song is kinda cool though once it gets going.

I saw these guys play at Come Together and they were awesome. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to their single launch.

I think this song is wicked... and I hate that new school of clean guitar sounds. I dont know who started it, Coldplay? Radiohead? Block Party? Foals? Its so annoying... but this song is good... so thats saying something!

Really cool song
saw them at world bar a while back
good fun
dont know how "Remmy" can put coldplay, radiohead, bloc party, and foals in a big category together of "clean guitar sounds" though
all completely different artisits
also radiohead use insane effects in some songs
and made in japan seem to be heavily influenced by bloc party

I know all those artists are very different from eachother... but they all share that clean guitar thing that seems to have been around since 1999. I guess It was Radiohead that started it.

Mix that sound with At The Drive In....

add a sprickle of Death Cab...

Slap in a disco beat...

Presto! Modern Indie!

Yay! :)
