megastick fanfare
June Stranglets (Seekae Remix)
This isn't really what you would call a 'normal' remix, but rather a completely new song, built from the source composition's dismembered elements. The Seekae lads have completely sliced, diced and 'had their way' with every single inch of the original megastick version, converting it from a lovely lo-fi pop jam into a strange 8-bit orgy of glitch-driven pleasure. It's Game Boy (original) bonus level keypad slamming, mixed with some great violent synths and topped off with some randomly sprinkled vocal snippets.
This track is taken from Seekae's Remix EP, which is out now via Rice Is Nice and available for purchase from FBi.
As previously mentioned Seekae will be officially launching The Remix EP tomorrow night (Thursday!) at the Oxford Art Factory. They will be joined by the remixed artists featured on the EP - Bearhug, Ghoul, Parades and megastick fanfare.
Playing times:
8:15 - Bearhug
8:55 - Parades
9:35 - megastick fanfare
10:15 - Ghoul
10:55 - Seekae
Tickets are $10 (+ bf) via Moshtix OR $15 on the door. All proceeds from both the launch show AND the sales of the EP will go directly into the pocket of FBi.
