If one were to select a perfect spokesperson of the indie scene that has been overflowing from the streets of Brooklyn, New York over the last few years, it would be hard to go past Les Savy Fav. In recent times they have consistently put out solid records, toured relentlessly and never failed to entertain a crowd. This is set to continue with the release of their latest album Let's Stay Friends.

The album from start to finish is a thing of beauty. From the opening drifting chords of Pots & Pans, the listener could be fooled into thinking that the band had taken a quiter approach to the new record. The Equestrian quickly puts this idea to bed however, relentlessly kicking the album into high gear, from where it never really shifts until it's conclusion.

Patty Lee croons along to a fantastic beat, Brace Yourself is a slower, slinkier number that makes for a good come down part way through with it's insightful yet humourous lyrics and infectious baseline, and Slugs In The Shrubs is a powerful blow to the skull that is no doubt a spectacle to be seen when played live.

The Lowest Bitter wraps everything up at the end, with its more traditionally rock structured chord progressions and epic qualities. All in all there isn't a weak moment to be found on the album, and would be a good selection for anyone into the basics of rock done well, with plenty of experimentation and twists thrown in along the way for good measure.
