More familiarity-meets-harsh-abrasiveness from Mr Alps as he continues to experiment with the elements of Traditional Rock N Roll and the blurring lines that exist between pop-rock acceptability and experimental lease-free romping. I like to think this is his own take on a Summer Rock Anthem, the perfect care-free soundtrack for Jeep Wranglering down to the beach, iced-cubed BBQ afternoons and/or running through a sprinkler in your stained grundies. But maybe that's just because of the selected Good Times 1976 stock footage that features in the video.
Stay Gold features on Alps' new EP/cassette, Golden, which is out this week via US imprint Night People Records. There'll also be a few copies for sale this Sunday at the Spring Break Festival in Newcastle.
